🦋 Spur Social Status: Rules of the Road
Welcome to the Spur Social status hierarchy. Your Status Level is a reflection of your contribution to the local community. The more you show up, host, and connect, the higher you climb.
Here is how to earn XP, unlock new titles, and become a Local Legend.

2. The "No Flake" Policy (Losing XP)
Spur is about showing up. To keep our community reliable, there are XP penalties for cancelling on plans you committed to.
- Cancel RSVP (-30 XP): If you mark yourself as "Going" and then change to "Not Going," you lose the XP you gained for joining. Only RSVP if you intend to be there!
- Cancel Hosted Event (-50 XP): If you delete an event you created, the XP earned for creating it is revoked.
Note for Attendees: If a host cancels an event you planned to attend, you keep your XP. You showed up; it’s not your fault the plan changed.
Warning: Losing XP can cause you to "Level Down" if you drop below the threshold for your current rank.
3. The Ranks
Your goal is to climb from a Newcomer to a Local Legend.
You’re here! Welcome to the scene.
You’ve made your first moves and started meeting people.
You’re getting comfortable. Faces are starting to look familiar.
You’re a consistent part of the local community.
You bring people together and bridge different groups.
You know the best spots and the hidden gems.
The life of the party. When you show up, the energy goes up.
You make things happen instantly. A spark for spontaneous fun.
A representative of the Spur culture. Highly respected.
The ultimate status. You are a pillar of the city’s social scene.
4. Fair Play & Community Guidelines
To ensure the leaderboard remains fair and the community stays safe, the following rules are strictly enforced:
- Community Conduct: Spur is built on good vibes and mutual respect. Harassment, inappropriate behavior, or making others feel unsafe—either in the app or at an event—will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
- Authentic Profiles: To keep meetups safe and trusted, you must use a real photo of yourself and accurate information. Catfishing or impersonation is strictly prohibited.
- Event Integrity: Hosts must provide accurate locations and descriptions. "Bait-and-switch" events will be removed, and the host will face severe XP penalties or account suspension.
- Spamming Check-ins: Rapidly checking in and out of venues to "farm" XP is not possible due to daily limits, but attempting to exploit the system is frowned upon.
- Fake Events: Creating events with no intention of hosting them just to gain XP is a violation of our guidelines and will result in a reset of your status.
- XP Accuracy: XP is updated in real-time, but in poor network conditions, there may be a slight delay. Please check your profile refreshing if you don't see points immediately.
Go forth and be spontaneous! 🚀
